CGSoc is the University of Southampton's Computer Game Society. We are here to bring the gamers of Southampton together, and we do so in a variety of ways.

Firstly, every Wednesday afternoon, we take over one of the lecture rooms in the Nuffield Theatre and transform it into the ultimate gaming environment by hooking up our TVs and consoles and relaxing with a whole world of video games, from the latest releases to multiplayer favourites and forgotten classics. There is no fixed schedule to these sessions and you are free to show up and leave whenever you like. Controllers are passed around fairly to ensure that everyone gets a chance to play. You are encouraged to bring along your handheld consoles and you are also welcome to bring along any home console titles that you would like to see played at our meetings.

Secondly, we provide you with an online forum to help you connect with other video game enthusiasts within the University of Southampton. The forum is the place to discuss video games and video game culture, to discuss the society's own events and to organise your own, and to trade your user IDs and friend codes from your favourite games with other members.

In addition, every fortnight we organise a society-wide social event (often a trip to the pub on campus) to help you to get to know your fellow gamers a little better, and every few months we hold an official CGSoc video games tournament featuring REAL cash prizes for the winners!

With all these ways to get involved, you've no excuse not to!
